Car Ideas
Okay, I've managed to make the money to found my own motor company, a global network is already in progress and my goal is to set up an enthusiastic new brand quickly. How would I do it?
I would first start with several concept cars, each showcasing different designs and different models. Then gauge which receives the most attention and produce three more concepts including: A three door hatch, a large sedan and a crossover SUV that rides on the same platform. Mostly to show what direction the company is about to take.
Execution would be simple, develop one platform with two different sizes and two different front sub-frames. The sub-frames for changing the vehicle from front wheel drive to rear wheel drive, the sizes for different models. All pieces would be engineered to handle diesel, hybrid/electric and high output power trains. Cars with the large platform will be designated with platform code "L" and the shorter platform with "S". Cars with the FWD sub-frame will be designated "F" and rear drive sub-frame cars will be designated "R". All combination's are capable of AWD, though only the F cars will be capable of AWD all the time. Sub monikers: "e" electric, "h" hybrid, "a" permanent awd, "d" diesel.
Power train development would be an extremely versatile Inline 6 cylinder that could be heavily cross-adapted to use diesel or hydrogen. A larger V8 would be developed for luxury sedans and high-performance. The Inline 6 would be able to be shortened into 3- 4- or 5- cylinders. "t" and "s" monikers would be added to denote supercharged and turbocharged variations. The engine capacity would vary depending on applications but would never move to compete with the V8.
Global Product range would include the following, with select cars only appearing in certain markets:
FS Platform cars
-Coupe (See Honda Civic)
-Fastback Coupe (See VW Scirocco)
-Fastback 5 Door (Used for Hybrids, see Toyota Prius/Honda Insight)

Beyond GT5
Hypothetical:
KY has been granted a huge budget increase, and his studio's are expanded. He know has close to 200 employees, with the ability to form them into two separate teams capable of working on multiple different projects. (In addition, two small Polyphony Digital studios are set up in Europe and America to monitor and tailor the games to each markets needs.) One team is set under himself, the other is under you (although you're still working under him.) He's decided to entrust you with the GT series while he works on another game genre/GTPSP2/Tourist Trophy/Expansion into PS4 and readying "GT7"
Your goal is this: Create another PS3 GT-franchise game, and erase the bad memories of the wait between GT4 and GT5. You also have free roam to explore new features though GT6's goal is the same as 2 and 4's.. that being expanding on the first game. Lets say you have the cream of the crop when it comes to game designers, and with most of the R&D for PS3 already completed, you're able to churn out small-ish games fairly quickly.
Notes:
-This game is an expansion of GT5, most of the revolutionary changes will be applied to GT7.
-Keep in mind anything drastically new added should be reflected in your release date.
My plan:
Release two themed "A-spec" games. Each having 150-200 cars.
The first featuring Vintage racing cars circa 1970 and under. Provide an even mix from across the globe from American Trans-Am to vintage Bently's and Bugatti's. Tracks would include Indianapolis, Monaco, Laguna Seca, Le Mans, Nurburgring (Grand Prix), and one original GT track redone with a classic feel (to cut down on development times and due to lack of source material, all real tracks would be the modern versions.)
The next game would feature mostly on Concept Cars (An extended version of GT Concept but with a few more tracks and cars). Tracks would include mostly GT-Original tracks. Preferably city and night-courses, with the full version of Nurburgring and the Top Gear test track providing more racing feel.
Both A-spec games could each introduce new minor details and features, but all tracks and the majority of all cars would be included in "GT6" thus the development of each game wouldn't go to waste.
Next up would undoubtedly be GT6 Prologue. Much following in the footsteps of the other prologues, the game would feature only the newest or extremely popular recent production vehicles. Concept cars would no longer be present as they have their own game. Select "tuners" would be included, and I would try to include as many of the past and present SEMA GT Award winners as possible, even if they've been in GT games before.
Then we get to GT6... a game that's been in development over the past 3 years. No radical new features are included. The biggest addition is more cars and more tracks with a limited return of Racing modification. However, the game has been split into three different versions, each focusing on a specific region or collection of regions.
GT Pacifica: Primary focus on Japanese and Australian marks. Notable American and European cars still make appearances throughout. Think of how Gran Turismo is now and you've got it.
GT Americana: Focuses on cars from North and South America. Notable Japanese and European cars are included and tracks span the globe (Ex: NASCAR's can still race at Suzuka).
GT Europa: Focuses on cars from Europe (might even go so far as to include the CitiGolf R from South Africa.) Again, notable American and Japanese cars make appearances. Really needs Porsche though.
All three games can be purchased individually, or all together and the garages from all three are unified in the Online/Arcade Mode. That's right, if you only buy GT Europa, you can take your TechArt Porsche and race against a Roush Mustang or Spoon S2000 (Tuners being the biggest varying factor between each version).
To clarify. You buy GT Americana, each American dealer is going to look roughly like Nissan and Subaru do now in any GT game. When you go to Nissan, the cars are going to be slightly more limited, or feature US Domestic vehicles.

Ego
I recently watched a movie called Revolver by a gentleman by the name of Guy Ritchie(Lock, Stock, and two smoking barrels, Snatch) which included, among other actors, Jason Statham (if you've seen the other two movies you'll know that this is a BIG SURPRISE). The movie was well done as usual, and Statham puts on a very good performance as Jake Green, a freshly released, falsely accused criminal. During his time spent in prison, he meets two men in the cells surrounding him, being in solitary confinement however... restricts all of their communication to writing in books that are handed out by twin brothers. On the day Mr. Green and his compadres are supposed to escape however, Jake awakes to find that he's been abandoned by his mentors. They proceed to clean him out of all the money in his home, after leaving him with the knowledge of how to get it all back.
However, this post is not a review of Revolver but rather an elaboration on one of it's themes. That theme being the human ego, and how it controls and manipulates us all. As stated in the movie (and the tagline), the human ego is the closest and most discreet enemy one can know. Disguising itself as your thoughts, and weaning you on it's logic. Two characters in the movie are utterly controlled by their ego's, yet by the end of the movie only Mr. Green has overcome it. Upon finishing the movie, I have since been keen to find out what the ego is exactly, and what actions it triggers. After some thought, and watching examples in the movie, I believe that the ego's biggest need is satisfaction, and the comfort of knowing that you're better than someone, and wanting to defeat them when they challenge you. The biggest battle ground for the ego in this day and age? Simple, The Internet. There is a running joke among select semi-underground internet communities that there are no women on the internet, and while this may not be true, I believe that this statement is made due to the many arguments made on comment sections of articles and posts that generally end in word battles among ignorant pencil pushers. (I saw one man try to defend himself so far that the author[The Editor In Chief to Motor Trend Magazine] had to get involved to prove him wrong. Not only did the gnetlemen not comply and continue to argue that he was right, but the entire website grew immediately out of his favor and he was most likely banned as he hasn't been seen since.)
The biggest threat to Internet "tough guys"? Why, the troll of course. Not to make it sound obvious and make you feel stupid (I acknowledge that not everyone is keen to interent terminology) but allow me to enlighten you. An internet troll isn't some big scaly green monster, but rather someone who writes or posts something in the intent of creating an internet word battle. The troll is also subject to ego though, especially if he participates in the battle with the intention of proving everyone wrong (thought their original statements generally are illogical)
Honor can often be associated with the human ego as well. It's really simple, just replace the word Honor with Ego and tah-dah you're all set to go.

PRO TIP: In the time I've written this, three people have sneezed into their hands and continued to type on their computers. WASH YOUR HANDS AFTER USING PUBLIC COMPUTERS IF YOU DDON'T ALREADY

First!
This is probably the most annoying thing someone can say when it comes to commenting on something. "Haha I commented on this Picture/Blog/Topic/etc. thing before you did... however, in my rush to be the honorary first commenter... I forgot to actually say anything intellectual. Therefor the person who comments next with something to actually SAY will be the first comment."
I love and hate the Internet.
